ABOUT US
ACET'S MISSION & BACKGROUND
The American Council for Election Technology (ACET) is a national, nonpartisan trade association established to advance policies and programs that support the use of election technology to ensure secure, accurate, accessible, and transparent elections.
Providers of election systems and services compete against each other in the marketplace, but they recognize the value of coming together to speak with a unified voice on state and federal policy and on fostering a better understanding of voting technologies. For these reasons, in 2022, ACET's founders established the council.
Thousands of state, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) governments rely on our members' technologies and services to advance democracy.
Our members' technologies provide the means for officials to:
-
Register voters
-
Print ballots
-
Check in voters
-
Make voting accessible
-
Count votes
-
Report results
-
Audit outcomes
HOW WE SERVE
In fulfilling our mission, ACET engages agency officials and lawmakers, collaborates with partners and stakeholders, and provides thought leadership based on experience and expertise.
ACET works with policymakers and election officials on core voting technology policies that make elections more secure, accurate, accessible, and transparent.
ACET is a forum for members to exchange best practices and knowledge related to election integrity and voter confidence.
ACET informs stakeholders, partners, and the public about the uses of election technology and how such technology is designed, tested, certified, and secured.
ACET is a subject-matter resource for election directors, legislators, and agency officials on technology and its uses.
ACET advocates for continued funding for SLTT governments to enhance election administration, security, and technology.
